What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on the connection between the mind and body to help process trauma, stress, and emotional pain. It recognizes that past experiences, especially traumatic ones, are stored in the body as well as the mind.
Instead of relying only on talking, somatic therapy incorporates body-centered techniques like breathwork, movement, mindfulness, and touch to release stored tension and promote healing. The goal is to help individuals become more aware of their bodily sensations, process unresolved emotions, and develop healthier ways to regulate their nervous system.
“If you don’t make time for your wellness, you’ll be forced to make time for your illness.”
